How do I retrieve Local's log file?

During the troubleshooting process, we may ask that you the Local Log which contains the activity performed by the application and can help us locate possible issues.

Version 5 of Local introduced a new file called local-lightning.log. Older versions of Local will use a log file called local-by-flywheel.log.

When submitting the log file, be sure to include the correct one. If you are unsure about which one to include, feel free to zip them both up and we can figure it out!


macOS

Log file location:

Up to and including version 3:

~/Library/Logs/local-by-flywheel.log

Version 5 and up:

~/Library/Logs/local-lightning.log
  1. Go to Help » Reveal Local’s Log

  1. Attach the Local Log file to your response here in the Community or to our support team if requested.


Windows

Log file location:

Up to and including version 3:

%AppData%\Local by Flywheel\local-by-flywheel.log

Version 5 and up:

%AppData%\Roaming\Local\local-lightning.log
  1. Click on the menu icon in the top-left of Local

  1. Go to Reveal Local’s Log

  1. Attach the Local Log file to your response here in the Community or to our support team if requested.


Linux

Log file location: ~/.config/Local/local-lightning.log

  1. Attach the Local Log file to your response here in the Community or to our support team if requested.
