Flywheel failing on PC restart

#1

I installed flywheel yesterday - marvellous
This morning it wouldn’t load - loads of pop-ups with error messages (headless fail)
Found lots of posts
Installed new version of VM - restart
no joy
uninstalled LBF
Re-installed LBF
Site not recognised
Managed to get site I was working on back - after another reboot - marvellous, did some more work
Thought I’d test it was really working + Shut down PC
Same problems LBF headless fail
VB says … LBF aborted
… argh
I’ve tried reinstalling both Flywheel & VB & fixing VB, turning off my firewall - but to no avail - is there a fix, shall I give up? Is it a PC thing? I’m on day 3 and really wanting this to work

Hey there Angie!

Ugh that sounds like a frustrating experience, It looks like the VM might need manually rebooted. Please try the following:

  1. Quit Local if it’s open
  2. Open VirtualBox
  3. Right-click on “local-by-flywheel” and go to Close » Power Off
  4. Re-open Local

If this does not help, try upgrading to the latest version of VirtualBox. Here’s the direct download link for Windows: (https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/6.0.2/VirtualBox-6.0.2-128162-Win.exe) If you weren’t already on that newest version of VirtualBox. Also I would check out on the forums and see if there might be similar issues out there, I did a quick search on “local-by-flywheel’ has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1” and found some others that were also encountering some of the same issues. https://local.getflywheel.com/community/search?q=%20‘local-by-flywheel’%20has%20terminated%20unexpectedly%20during%20startup%20with%20exit%20code%201%20
