For my first test of Local I imported a backup of a live site into local and was able to view it but not login to the admin. Don’t know why so I stopped the site in local and then tried to go to the live url of the imported site and my browsers time out in both chrome and firefox. I checked the live site on another computer and it loads fine. So it looks like local has set something on my computer that makes it try to access to the local version instead of the hosted live site. When importing i left the domain name for the local site the same as the live site. How do i get local to release my domain url so i can access the live site from this computer?
Figured it out. Changed the .com to .dev and all is well.
