Uninstalled Local because machine would not start, reinstalled and still not starting

Sorry about this! It looks like the VM failed to create and it’s still trying to use the bad VM.

Please try the following:

  1. Quit Local by Flywheel
  2. Open VirtualBox
  3. Disclaimer: this step is potentially destructive and will remove your site databases if you have existing sites in Local that are not backed up. … Remove the local-by-flyweel VM by right-clicking on it and going to Remove and then Delete all Files
  4. Manually update VirtualBox
  5. Re-open Local and proceed with the installation
