Contact forms not sending in local enviroment

Hi. New to Local Flywheel. It’s been a lifesaver! First post on here!

Simple fix I would imagine, but I’m struggling to make it work. Here goes:

Everything’s gone smoothly on first use. Until I need to check my contact forms (CF7) are working. I get the “success” message but the emails never arrive.

In settings the URL is set to xxxxxxx.dev and the email settings are to my live email.

How can I make the form “live” as it were?

Thanks in advance!

If you are trying to send emails directly from your Local WordPress installation, you will need to have a functioning mail server setup on your local machine. Local installs typically don’t have this capability. Refer You need a functioning mail server.

Hi @AndyWoggle,

All outgoing in Local is intercepted by MailCatcher or MailHog, depending on the environment you’re using.

You can access MailHog/MailCatcher by going to the site panel in Local then to the “Utilities” tab.

Thanks Buzzone. I did suspect it was going to be SMPT related but wanted to check before going in blind

Thanks for your help
