Cannot download or update plugins

Hi @clay, I don’t have any applications that block internet traffic, I’ve also tried other networks so I don’t think its from the ISP.

Heres the screenshot :

Looks like we’re at least getting somewhere considering you can ping Google.

Can you try running this command in the “Site SSH”?

apt-get update && apt-get install -y ca-certificates

Once you do that, check the site.

Hi, tired it and restarted and it still didn’t work. :frowning: anything else I could try ?

Hi @clay, so I noticed that after I clear the cache and restart local it show until I refresh again

@raph,

Which environment is the site running? Preferred or Custom? If it’s Custom, what version of PHP is the site running?

Hi! @clay I’m running preferred on all sites. Should I be running custom ?

I tried on another computer and i noticed i get an error when i try to update more than one plugin at a time, it seems to work when i try just one and sometimes it doesn’t ( it can be pretty frustrating but i appreciate your help)

I also noticed wp-cli can’t update either - it seems to start and then stop, updating core crashes local host but then when i reopen the site the update is complete.

Heres a shot of wp-cli :

nothing happens when i run the command.

Got this error when trying to update after it started working : Update Failed: Download failed. cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds

@clay : also started getting this: Installer cannot contact our updates server to get information about the available products and check for new versions. If you are seeing this message for the first time, you can ignore it, as it may be a temporary communication problem. If the problem persists and your WordPress admin is slowing down, you can disable automated version checks. Add the following line to your wp-config.php file:

define(“OTGS_DISABLE_AUTO_UPDATES”, true);

I think its linked to the same issue

It seems to begin downloading, and sometimes after I refresh the page it shows as updated.

This exact problem also happens to mine. Also tried updating plugins using the updater and all updates returned an error, after refreshing, the updates have been applied. It’s weird.

Still can’t download plugins using the “add plugins” page in the dashboard.

@angelangelesiii,

Have you tried the solution in Help! My Local site cannot establish a connection to WordPress.org?

@raph,

I’m still looking for a solution. If you find any other information or find anything that you think would be helpful, let me know!

Will do! Thank you

@clay it is working well (all my plugins are updating) now that I switched to a different network, this is weird because I had tried switching before and I still had the same problem earlier.

So my company network has cyberroam on it - I believe that’s why it’s not working

@angelangelesiii please try other networks
